Do You Know What the Historical Significance of this Place is?

CORRECTION: After further research it has come to my attention that the location of Abu Ayyub Al Ansari’s home is in fact adjacent to the highlighted building – the building immediately to its left.

This is the place where Abu Ayyub Al Ansari’s home used to be (may Allah be pleased with him) and it is where the Prophet’s camel stopped and where he stayed for almost 7 months after making Hijrah (migrating from Makkah to Madina).

Currently, there are no marks or signs to indicate this place’s historical significance but as you can see by this photo sent in by a friend who is currently in Madinah, some people do know about it and stand there engaging in supplication and reciting the holy Qur’an.
