Here are 20 unique photos taken by Abdul Kahhar from Bedford, England during his trip to the blessed lands of Makkah and Madinah.
1. Plains of Madinah from above.
2. Contrary to popular belief, the Masjid Al Haram’s police are very composed with the pilgrims in that heat.
3. The symmetrical architecture of Masjid An-Nabawi can keep you wandering around the Prophet’s Mosque for hours on end. Could do with a site plan.
4. You must never mess with the people of Madinah, especially if it’s a young man who knows every trick of the trade. You will most certainly remember the soothing echoes of “khamsa riyal” in your ears long after.
5. The blessed Ka’bah.
6. In the early hours after Fajr, I came across these two gentlemen who had a car full of small packs of dates ready to be dished out to the pilgrims. Any excuse to please Allah. The reward lies with the Almighty for these blessed people of Makkah.
7. Whilst happy pilgrims arrive in Makkah full of joy in their heart, someone else is grieving for the loss of a loved one.
8. Whether its passing on cups of Zam Zam water to pilgrims performing Tawaf or handing out dates to the pilgrims sitting in the shade of the Haram there’s always that one thing that will make you smile.
9. I know what you’re thinking right now. Lets just leave it at that.
10. Life is far too short. I’m sure those very people who were about to be prayed upon said “tomorrow I will change”. Change is now.
11. Just chillin’ in the shade of Masjid An Nabawi.
12. Mountain of mercy. Those that didn’t get the opportunity to climb are doing so now, not part of any rituals to climb it. Hajj is ‘Arafah. Jabal al-Rahmah, in the plains of ‘Arafah.
13. Do you know what this mark under carpet refers to?
لَن تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِن شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ
By no means shall you attain to righteousness until you spend (benevolently) out of what you love; and whatever thing you spend, Allah surely knows it. (3:92)
When Allah revealed this verse to His Messenger (peace be upon him), Abu Talha Al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger (peace be upon him) and said: O’ Messenger of Allah, the garden of Bayruha’ (بيرحاء) is the most beloved wealth to me, and I give it away for Allah.
The Messenger (peace be upon him) used to love spending time in there and drinking from the garden’s water.
I saw a post on Facebook the day before by Sheikh Fadi Kablawi and I just happened to sit on that exact spot for Salatul Fajr by coincidence. This mark is hidden under carpet in the back of Al-Masjid An-Nabawi. Exactly: The small rug on the right of King Fahd door (door number 22). The mark is exactly where the garden of Bayruha’ (بيرحاء) and the water source used to be.
14. Believers patiently waiting for the Jumu’ah khutbah to commence in the courtyard area of Masjid An Nabawi.
15. Worshippers rushing to get inside Masjid An Nabawi whilst others exit.
16. Patiently waiting for barriers of Rawdatul Jannah to be lifted by the guards of Masjid An Nabawi.
17. An epic moment when the Mu’addhin of Masjid An-Nabawi was calling the people for prayers (adhan). I turn around to see people instead of answering the call of prayer they where capturing that moment.

19. The resting place of the Martyrs of Uhud. Real life heroes such as Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib, Mus’ab bin Umayr and ‘Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with them all) who fought in the path of Allah in the Ghazwah (battle) of Uhud really makes you ponder what are YOU doing for the Deen to attain His pleasure.
20. You know that feeling you have that you’ve packed everything but you’ve left something behind. Well it was one of those moment. I packed my emotions with me but not my heart. Home is where your heart is.
