Charity Week Smartphone Photography Competition

IlmFeed is teaming up with Charity Week and Islamic Relief to bring you a special photography competition which puts nature at its focus.

  1. Eligibility
  • Entrants must be 18 years or over.
  • Employees of IlmFeed, Islamic Relief, or anyone else connected in any way with the prize draw e.g. helping to set up the prize draw shall not be permitted to enter the draw selection.
  • You must be a resident of one of the following countries in order to participate in this prize draw: Australia, Canada, Germany, Qatar, South Africa, UK or USA.
  1. Entry requirements
  • We are looking for images of nature that remind you of Allah, and make you say SubhanAllah!
  • Composite, stitched, restructured and superimposed images are not allowed. Addition or removal of key elements of the composition is similarly prohibited.
  • Minor edits, such as colour correction, blemish removal, burning, dodging, healing and cropping are permitted.
  • IlmFeed and Charity Week reserves the right to exclude any image(s) that they believe has been subject to excessive manipulation so as to alter its authenticity.
  • Images that have won a prize(s) in previous competitions, or featured in a regional or national advertisement campaign, are not allowed
  • All images must be the work of the individual submitting them, and must not infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights
  1. Submission
  • All images must be taken on a smartphone, no images taken on digital, SLR or DSLR cameras are allowed.
  • Multiple entries are allowed, unlimited number of images per participant.
  • Entries must be labelled with image location and the year the photo was taken (if known). When submitting multiple images, each individual image must contain this information.
  • Entries must be made via social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram) using the hashtag #IlmFeedCW2018 or via email to
  • There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter the draw selection.
  • The competition is open from 16:00 on 21/10/2019 until 23.59 on 03/11/2019
  • The entry process will remain open for two (2) hours after this time to allow for transmission of entries made close to the deadline.
  • Any incomplete or late entry will be deemed ineligible.
  • IlmFeed’s and Islamic Relief’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. Judging
  • There will be an independent judging panel (4 people) made up of judges from
    • IlmFeed
    • Charity Week
    • Islamic Relief UK
    • and a /photographer/photography expert
  • The judges will shortlist 12 finalists. The 12 shortlisted images will be uploaded onto IlmFeed’s Instagram account for a 48 hour public vote. See Point 5 for dates.
  • The judges’ decision(s) are final
  • We are unable to enter into correspondence with unsuccessful entrants
  1. Key Dates
  • Below are the key dates in
    • Competition is open from 16:00 on 21/10/2019 until 23.59 on 03/11/2019
    • Judging will take place on 04/11/2019 where the 12 finalists will be shortlisted
    • The 48-hour online vote will take place on IlmFeed’s Instagram after the 12 finalists have been shortlisted.
    • The winner will be announced on IlmFeed’s social media channels
    • The prize will be delivered by 31/12/2019
  1. Prizes
  • The prize will be a white GoPro HERO8 Black Camera.
  • No cash alternative to the prize will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  • If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize with 5 days of being contacted, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  • IlmFeed, Islamic Relief and Charity Week is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  1. Conditions of Use
  • The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK Data Protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  • Entrants retain full copyright over their images. However, by submitting images to the competition, you are agreeing to grant IlmFeed, Islamic Relief and Charity Week a perpetual royalty-free license to use those images in any of their publications, on the website and/or any promotional material. Where appropriate, reasonable efforts will be made to credit the photographer, though this may not always be possible
  • The winners may be required to take part in publicity and provide PR quotes for local, national and/or international media
  1. General
  • By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • Entry into the prize draw will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  • IlmFeed and Islamic Relief reserves the right to cancel or amend the prize draw and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of IlmFeed’s and Islamic Relief’s control.
  • Any changes to the prize draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by IlmFeed.
