A Muslim Lawyer is Hailed a Hero after Stopping Suspected Thief

A Muslim lawyer has been hailed a hero after he stopped a suspected thief in Sydney, Australia.

Mohamad Sakr was minding his own business when he noticed a man running away from the police.

Without having much time to think, he leapt into action and barged the suspect into a rack of shoes stopping the suspect in his tracks.

Police were then able to detain the man suspect.

CCTV footage obtained by 7News shows the Mohamad stopping the suspect:

Mohamad said he did not think about his safety:

“In the circumstances you don’t think about your safety. It’s more the helping and taking into account Australian values, and trying to act on that,”

“After they arrested that man, they came up to me and thanked me for my efforts.”

Mohamad went onto say that people should try to help instead of recording incidents for social media on their phones,

“You see bystanders with cameras out, I don’t want to be that type of person, I thought I needed to intervene.”
