A Round-Up of IlmFeed’s Facebook Live Hajj Coverage

Before the introduction of services such as Twitter’s Periscope and Facebook Live, live streaming to thousands of people was only possible with expensive broadcast technology.

However, with Facebook rolling out Facebook Live to all users, we have been able bring on-the-ground live footage from Hajj.

Our intention was to encourage Muslims to perform Hajj and Umrah and to show non-Muslims the beauty of Hajj.

Here’s a round-up of our Facebook Live Hajj coverage:

Imam Hassan Shibly, Director of CAIR kicked off the coverage with a live broadcast showing his group entering Makkah whilst reciting the Talbiyah:

After friday prayers, Imam Hassan shared this amazing video of the crowds in the Masjid Al Haram’s courtyard:

We were unable to live stream from the Jamarat due to connection issues but Shaykh Yunus sent in a video showing pilgrims heading towards the Jamarat through a tunnel:
