Muslims Feed Manchester’s Homeless

A group of volunteers from the Myriad Foundation spent the evening feeding Manchester’s homeless and needy. The project titled ‘SoupNSmiles is a weekly pop up street kitchen set up to feed Manchester’s most vulnerable. They also provide the poor and needy warm clothes, sleeping bags and essential toiletries every few months as a part of the service.

The following statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was one of their inspirations in setting up this project,

Ibn ‘Abbas narrated: “I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say,

‘The believer is not he who eats his fill while his neighbor is hungry‘”
